Most clients will want to use a third-party email client such as Mozilla Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook Express. Any email client that supports POP3 or IMAP can be used. In this article we will demonstrate how to configure POP3 access through Mozilla Thunderbird
Important Information
Whichever email client you decide to use, the following information will be needed:
| POP3 (incoming) server: | mail.yourdomain.com |
| IMAP (incoming) server: | mail.yourdomain.com |
| Username: | your username |
| Password: | your password |
| SMTP (outgoing) server: | SMTP server provided by your ISP |
Adding a POP3 Account in Mozilla Thunderbird
To add a new POP3 account in Mozilla Thunderbird:
- Launch Thunderbird and select Tools -> Settings
- Click "Add Account"
- Select "Email Account" and click "Next"
- Enter your name and email address (username@yourdomain.com)
- Select "POP", and enter "mail.yourdomain.com" into "Incoming Server", click "Next".
- Enter your username under "Incoming User Name". If your ISP requires a username for your SMTP server, enter it under "Outgoing User Name". Click "Next" twice.
- Click "Finish".
Your email account is now configured.
